Sewing Gifts 101: Handmade Coffee Cozy

{ Handmade Coffee Cozy } Sewing workshop tutorial!

These sweet latte covers are a fun gift to make for { friends, mom, dad, teachers, co-workers, anyone who loves lattes }





{ Step 1 }

Choose two fun fabrics { Pink Minky Dots and Pink Chocolate Dots }. Lay fabrics like sides togther. Take a paper coffee sleeve{ free at any coffee house } and trace it over the fabrics, adding a 1/2 inch seam allowance all around. Pin fabrics together and cut out the offee sleeve.





{ Step 2 }


Ready set sew! Place, pinned coffee sleeve, starting at the top of the round edge, sewing all the way around, leaving a 2 inch opening to turn your coffee sleeve right-side out. Turn the Coffee Sleeve right-side out and iron flat. Top Stich the opening closed.





{ Step 3 }


Now add the velcro, to keep it snug around the laytte! { Tip } Have a size large paper coffee cup on hand to use for sizing! Sew Velcro closure to one side of the coffee sleeve and then turn it over and sew the other side of the velcro to the oppoiste side.
